Créon, Gouron (Credonio) was given a grant of murage dated 1/6/1315.

In cujus visionis et inspeccionis testimonium nos, Johnannes Guitardi, custos predictus, predictum sigillum regium quo utitur in Burdeg. ad contractus, ut superius dictum est, presentibus duximus apponendum. Constat de interlineari: et «habitatorum remaneat burgensium, dictum plus». Et de rasura : «vel pignoretur». Datum Burdeg., ix die mensis Marcii, anno Domini Mo CCCo quintodecimo.
Nos autem concessiones predictas et singula alia in eisdem litteris contenta approbamus et confirmamus. Et ea pro nobis et heredibus nostris, quatenus rite facta sunt, teneri et observari volumus et mandamus jure nostro et alterius cujuscumque in omnibus semper salvo. In cujus etc. Datum apud Westm., xviij die Maii. Per ipsum Regem et consilium.

Comments
Despite Edward II's promise to provide the town with gates there were none when it was pillaged in 1337-38 and it is not certain whether the money raised by the ten-year subsidies of 1342 and 1351 was spent on more than defensive ditches (SC8/262/13083; C61/54 mm. 6, 8 and 12; C61/63 m.1).
