Bristol was given a grant of murage dated 29/5/1439.

This was in the form of:-

Feb. 5, 1446. Westminster 24 Henry VI
Ratification to Nicholas Hille, the mayor, and the commonalty of Bristol of letters patent, dated 29 May, 17 Henry VI, granting to them murage for a term of twenty years; and pardon to them of all accounts, debts, actions and demands, and grant to them of murage for sixty years beyond the said term.
By p.s. etc. and for 20s. paid in the hanaper.

Granted by Henry VI. (Regnal year 17).

I can not find this in the Calendar of Patent Rolls via index and online search, nor could Coulson who checked whole volume page by page.
