Memorandum, that the king granted, on 2 March, at Dounam{eney} to G{eoffrey} de Gyenvill a murage at Lodelawe, for which he shall have a writ so soon as he shall deliver to the king the writ of murage that he previously had there.

The reference to an earlier writ to Geoffrey suggests that there is an unrecorded grant of murage filling the gap between the 5 year grant of 1271 (to Theobald de Verdun) and this 1280 grant. Geoffrey de Gyenvill, was justiciary of Ireland in 1275 so perhaps mislocated in Irish rolls. There seems to be some inconsistency with the given date of the Close Roll entry, The king was in Down Ampney on 2 March 1280, so the Close Roll entry must by some time in March 1280.
