Cambridge was given a grant of murage dated 4/6/1271.

This was in the form of:-

June 4. Westminster.
All. to the bailiffs and burgesses of Cambridge, in the prequisites of the king's market there, 73s. 4d. spent on the works of the gates and ditches of the town when the king was there in his 51st year, as testified by Roger de Wauton, then keeper of those works.

Granted by Henry III. (Regnal year 55). Granted at Westminster.
