Hastingues was given a grant of murage dated 16/7/1341.

This was in the form of:-

Wording
16 July 1341. Tower of London. For the jurats and community of Hastingues.
Order to the seneschal of Gascony and the constable of Bordeaux to revoke the assignment that they have made to Arnaut-Gassie de Saint-Jean of the toll called barragium on merchandise and other goods brought to the bastide of Hastingues which they made in lieu of the baylie of Poudenx which St-Jean had and which they had assigned to Bernat-Etz, lord of Albret for certain insufficient reasons. The jurats and community of the bastide of Hastingues have requested that the king would wish to revoke the assignment because the toll had been granted to them in aid of the enclosure of the bastide with stone walls because the bastide is on the frontier with the lands of some of the king's enemies such as the kingdom of Navarre, and the term of the grant has not yet expired. The king has realised that it is not just and reasonable that the toll be used for another purpose other than the enclosure of Hastingues, and desires the assignment to be revoked, and further grants to the jurats and community that they should have and take the toll until the end of the term granted to them, and after its expiry, they should have it for a further five years, the jurats and community rendering an account for the issues that they have received. The seneschal and constable are to see to it that all the issues and emoluments taken at Hastingues are used for the construction of the walls, and not for any other use for the duration of the term, the assignment not withstanding.
By C. in parliament.

Granted by Edward III. (Regnal year 15).
