Scarborough (Scardeburg) was given a grant of murage dated 27/8/1268.

This was in the form of:-

Wording
Extension to the bailiffs and burgesses of Scardeburg, for three years from St. Gregory next, of the murage which the king granted to them by letters patent more than four years ago for a term of five years, for the defence of their town and the quay of their port.

Granted by Henry III. (Regnal year 52). Granted at Nottingham.

Comments
St Geogory is 12 March, this seems a long time to wait if the the last murage had ended in 1257. I have taken this as evidence of a lost murage grant.
