Bridgnorth (Bruges) was given a grant of murage dated 26/6/1220.

D' auxilio claustre vill' de Brug. Rex vicecomes Salop' salutem. Sciatis nos concessisse Burgensibus nostris de Bruges quod habeant in foresta nostra de Morf' sicut nobis et eis mag' videris expedire in auxlilium ville de Bruges claudende de zuchis et veteribus quercubus bosci quant' sufficiens fuerit ad duos rogos faciendos. Et ido tibi percipimus quatinus hoc eis hre facias sicut praedictum est, et ad minus vastum foreste nostre in quantum poteris pro visum et testimonium fidelium nostrorum Hugonis de Bekebir' et Richardi de Ruton', quibus mandavimus per letteras nostras quod ad hoc intendant. T. H. etc apud Roking', xxvj. die Jun'. per eundum, et Wint' Episcopum.
Et mandat' est praedictis Hugoni et Richardo quod ad hoc intendant et videant et in talliam redigant quot ad hoc quercus capte fuerint de foresta nostra. T.H. etc. ut supra per eosdem.

A grant of timber was made in 1220 (Turner) From Morfe Forest
BRIDGNORTH 3718 2929. Borough 1101, when it moved here from Quatford, Shropshire (q.v.). In a charter of 1157, K Hen II granted his burgesses of Bridgnorth all the liberties and customs that they had under K Hen I (1100x35) (BF, p. 153). 1334 Subsidy £244.12.
