Bordeaux was given a grant of murage dated 18/10/1244.

This was in the form of:-

Wording
Mandate to N. de Molis, seneschal of Gascony, and H. de Wingeham, out of the issues of Gascony to let the mayor and {commune} of Bordeaux have 1000 pounds of Tours for the walling of the town which the king specially loves.

Granted by Henry III. (Regnal year 28). Granted at Westminster.
